How to Diagnose and Repair Common Commercial Water Heater Issues?
Tumblr media
If your business operates in Palm Beach County or Broward County, Florida, chances are you rely heavily on your water heater. From hospitality services to professional cleaning, hot water is integral to many industries. But what happens when your commercial water heater begins to falter?
Here’s a rundown on common issues and how to handle a commercial water heater repair in Palm Beach County, Broward County, Florida.
Spotting the Warning Signs
Your water heater might be silently crying for help. Being aware of early signs of trouble can avert bigger issues down the road. Look out for:
Inconsistent Water Temperature: Fluctuations between too hot and lukewarm. Likely a thermostat issue.
Insufficient Hot Water: If water gets cold too soon, the heating element might need a check.
Discoloration or Odor: Rusty or foul-smelling water points towards tank corrosion.
Unusual Sounds: Hearing rumbling, popping, or clicking? Sediment build-up is the culprit.
The Do-It-Yourself Approach
Some basic industrial water heater repairs can be done by you, saving time and resources.
Flushing the Tank
A simple yet effective strategy is to flush your water heater tank periodically. Flushing removes sediment build-up, improving your heater’s longevity and efficiency.
Replacing the Anode Rod
The anode rod protects your tank from corrosion. Replacing it can extend the life of your water heater, making it a worthy DIY task.
When to Call Professionals
Not all issues can (or should) be handled on your own. It’s important to understand when to call professionals for hot water heater repair.
Age of the Heater: Most commercial water heaters last about 10–15 years. If yours is within this range, professional consultation for potential replacement is wise.
Frequent Breakdowns: Constant repairs are not only frustrating but expensive. A professional can assess if it’s more economical to replace rather than repair.
Complex Problems: Issues like a faulty thermostat, electrical problems, or extensive corrosion may need a skilled technician’s attention.
So, why choose professionals? They can accurately diagnose and fix issues, ensuring your water heater functions optimally and safely.
Embracing Green Technology
Another aspect to consider is upgrading to a green technology company’s heater. It’s not just about the eco-friendly factor. Energy-efficient heaters are proven to reduce operating costs, providing your business with crucial savings.
Final Thoughts
Integrating these tips into your water heater maintenance plan will help keep the hot water flowing, guaranteeing your customers consistent service and saving you from unexpected, costly breakdowns.
There is no one-size-fits-all remedy for water heater issues, which is why understanding, diagnosing, and knowing when to call for commercial water heater repair is crucial for your business. So, stay proactive and ensure your water heater gets the care it deserves with the expertise of Green Refrigeration LLC (561) 303–7303.

Why Isn’t My Water Heater Working? Common Issues and Solutions
If your water heater has stopped producing hot water, is leaking, or just isn’t working as it should, you’re not alone. Water heaters are essential for comfortable living, but they don’t last forever. When issues arise, it’s crucial to know whether it’s time for a repair or a full replacement. Read on to explore common water heater problems, learn why they happen, and discover when it’s time to call a licensed << plumber near me >>.
Common Water Heater Problems and Their Solutions
1. Water Heater Not Producing Hot Water
One of the most frustrating issues is when your water heater is not producing hot water. Several reasons could cause this:
- Faulty Heating Elements: Electric water heaters have two heating elements. If one or both fail, your water won’t get hot.
- Thermostat Issues: Malfunctioning thermostats can prevent the water heater from reaching the desired temperature.
- Gas Supply Problems: In gas water heaters, a problem with the gas supply can result in no hot water. In many cases, a qualified, licensed plumber can help diagnose and repair these issues. Regular maintenance can also help you avoid cold water surprises.
 2. Water Heater Stopped Working Completely
A water heater that has stopped working altogether may need more attention. Here are possible reasons:
- Power Supply Problems: For electric models, check your circuit breaker. Sometimes, it’s a simple fix.
- Failed Gas Control Valve: This is a more complex repair, best handled by a professional plumber, especially if you smell gas or suspect a leak.
- Sediment Buildup: Hard water (common in many areas) can leave minerals inside the tank, reducing efficiency and causing a shutdown. When your water heater stops working, reach out to a nearby licensed plumber. Fixing issues promptly can prevent further damage to your plumbing system.
3. Water Heater is Leaking
If your water heater is leaking, you may be dealing with anything from a minor drip to a major flood risk. Key areas to check include:
- Tank Leak: This can mean that corrosion has compromised the integrity of the tank. If this is the case, you’ll likely need to install a new water heater.
- Temperature & Pressure Relief Valve: If this valve malfunctions, it can lead to leaks. It’s critical for safety, so don’t ignore this problem.
- Pipe Connections: Loose or worn connections can cause leaks. Our plumber can tighten or replace these connections to stop the leak. Leaking water heaters require immediate attention. Ignoring them can lead to more extensive plumbing repairs and higher utility bills.
When Do You Need a New Water Heater?
Water heaters don’t last forever. Even with the best care, most units have a lifespan of 8-12 years.
Here are some signs that it may be time for a water heater replacement:
- Frequent Repairs: If you’re calling the plumber every few months, a new unit may be more cost-effective.
- Rusty or Murky Water: Discolored water can indicate corrosion inside the tank.
- Age of the Water Heater: Once your water heater reaches 10 years or more, it’s wise to budget for a replacement.
- Inefficiency: If your water heater is driving up energy bills, newer models can provide better efficiency and savings. Installing a new water heater isn’t just about resolving current issues. Modern water heaters are more energy-efficient and can lower your energy bills over time. An experienced plumber from Emergency Plumbing can help you choose the best option for your home and budget.
Types of Water Heaters for Replacement
When it's time to install a new water heater, consider these types:
- Traditional Tank Water Heaters : These are the most common models. They heat water and store it in a large tank, but they can be less energy-efficient.
- Tankless Water Heaters: These heat water on demand, saving space and energy. They’re a popular choice for homes where efficiency is key.
- Heat Pump Water Heaters: Using heat from the air, these systems are highly efficient, especially in warmer climates. Each water heater type has its pros and cons, and our licensed plumber can help guide you toward the best choice for your household needs.
How a Licensed Plumber Can Help
When water heater issues arise, finding a “plumber near me” is essential for peace of mind and efficient service.
Here’s how a licensed plumber from Emergency Plumbing can help:
- Accurate Diagnosis: With expertise in plumbing systems, a licensed plumber can quickly identify the root cause of your water heater issues.
- Efficient Repairs: From thermostat adjustments to replacing heating elements, experienced plumbers provide fast, effective solutions.

Hiring a licensed plumber isn’t just about fixing the issue at hand—it’s about protecting your home and family. Emergency Plumbing professionals are always around and ready to help.
The Importance of Routine Water Heater Maintenance
Routine maintenance helps extend the life of your water heater, especially in areas with hard water.
Here are a few maintenance tips:
-Annual Flushes: Flushing your water heater removes sediment buildup, which can damage the tank and heating elements.
- Anode Rod Replacement: The anode rod prevents rust in the tank. Replacing it every few years can extend the life of your unit.
- Check the Pressure Relief Valve: This valve prevents dangerous pressure buildup. Our  licensed plumber  from Emergency Plumbing can check and replace it as needed. Maintaining your water heater regularly can prevent costly repairs or early replacement.

I hate how inconsistent the temperature iOS this time of year. Today the high is like 64 but two days from now they are predicting a high of 80 something. Every morning i have to check the weather to see what I have to do, air conditioning on or off, and when I’m getting out my clothes for the day i have to figure out just how much of the day I’ll be outside. In the morning it will be like 60 something and then at noon it’s like 80. What pants am I supposed to wear like this? And do I need a sweater or will it just be extra bulk in warmer weather? On Monday I was like “oh hell yeah, I can wear my skinny jeans now. And the new ouija board sweater i got at target! And then yesterday it was 75 and i forgot to check the weather so i didn’t turn on the air conditioning or open a window until i noticed it was uncomfortably warm in the afternoon and i had trouble falling asleep because my bedroom (i don’t open the window here very often because i live near train tracks and I’d rather not hear it louder in my bedroom while i try to sleep, and any wind will blow my curtains around and let light in) even with my window open all night while it dipped to around 60 felt too hot, but I refused to use the air conditioner when it was 60 out and nice. I had been using the stove though and that combined with my body heat and the weather warming the small apartment up, I was sweating in my bed and I couldn’t fall asleep. And then! If you sweat a whole lot overnight and your window is open cooling the place down, you’re hit by cold when you remove the blanket. I need to wash shorts and pants and it’s weird. September is always super inconsistent here.
#emma posts#and when i have my window open to the cold I worry about my cactus#I wonder if living on the second floor makes it warmer? heat rises#and when we had that insane cold snap last winter the first floor felt cold enough for a coat indoors m#I think the actual apartments were warmer with the heaters but it was still cold af#I’m surprised my African violet didn’t die#that thing has been through hells and keeps going#is scoffs at any other plants i have that maybe get stressed by watering schedule being changed or temperature dropping a little more than#is comfortable for them#a seasoned veteran who has put up with the strain that is depending on a human with adhd#looking upon the orchid that stopped flowering the moment I forgot to water for a little too long#those violets can live for 80 years and i don’t want to jinx it but i would only be half surprised#if the violet outlived me. it might be a close competition though because the women on my dad’s mom’s side of the family have lived crazy#long lives. at least one got cancer. but unlike her husband she got better#to be fair she had skin cancer and everyone else in that family that got cancer got it way worse#my grandpa lived like two decades longer than the doctors expected when he was diagnosed but towards the end it wasn’t great#so on my dad’s side it’s kinda like. if cancer doesn’t kill you you’ll be old af#unfortunately cancer has gotten several people#I’m half convinced that something the farm was using back in the day was worse than they thought#I don’t know of anything that has actually been proven to cause cancer being used. but it’s weird that it happened four times#maybe it was the aresenic water? it’s filtered now but no one knew the groundwater had it until I was like six or seven

grayson went downstairs for a late-night bowl of cereal & heard water splashing in the basement (which has been flooding with distressing frequency). they looked and spotted the new water heater's condensation pump IN THE ACT of gushing gallons and gallons of water all over the floor!!
they called for me, i ran downstairs in my underwear (just having showered like ten minutes earlier). i tbh sort of wrench the pump into a 5-gal tub (which it RAPIDLY starts filling) to give us time to diagnose the problem. this is not helped by there being like 4 tubes/pipes plumbed into/out of this thing.
i try to pick it up to get a better look at what it's doing and it feels like it buzzes weirdly on my fingers or maybe hand? so i drop it back in the tub (mostly submerged) and try again. same thing. grayson tries it, same thing. i'm like oh shit where did those LOOSE WIRES ON THE PUMP COME FROM OH MY GOD WE'RE STANDING IN AN INCH OF WATER AND I THINK WE JUST GOT SHOCKED. we both get the hell out of the water, i shut off the power to the water heater & go back to try again (grayson has heart disease! do not want them taking any risks w/ electricity!), get zapped AGAIN. i realize the pump is plugged into an outlet on a different circuit and unplug it (by the cord) (in hindsight should've turned off the whole circuit).
the pump stops pumping & i can move it to a new bucket (good! the old one is now overflowing) but it is still gushing water. grayson realizes our Mysterious Whole-House Filter Of Unknown Custom Design is in the middle of its flush cycle so we shut it off. and the water stops. we turn the spigots to bypass the filter so it won't do that again, hopefully.
turns out when the water heater installers put the condenser pump in, they (for some reason) routed the filter flush outflow pipe down through it, then out to the main outflow pipe using the condenser pump. but the flush cycle has such high flow rate that it absolutely overwhelmed the tiny little condenser pump and just poured out of every opening in it. so. i'm annoyed. this didn't need to happen.

Ok guys for the first time ever...it's not something Elvis related which makes me feel weird to say almost like it's wrong?... 😭😭🥺
Anyway.......I hope you're doing well! I just thought I'd give a little life update considering I've been a bit MIA and wanted to share a bit with you! Ok so.... I’ve recently been diagnosed with severe primary Raynaud’s Phenomenon. Now! it isn’t life-threatening! It's a circulation issue which means it just makes me sensitive to the cold/temperature changes.
For example everyone's different but for me this means my hands and feet stay cold all the time and change color in my case it starts off as white fingers(or toes)and blue hands, to purple, sometimes gray, and then red when warming up which really burns 😭. And quite often my lips go purple when I get cold even if it's not. When I'm cold it also causes numbness, pain, and stiffness, and unfortunately even small temperature changes can trigger severe symptoms. For instance, handling items from the freezer or using cold water to wash my hands for 20 seconds can cause my fingers to turn white and become really painful and numb. I often experience shivering and my teeth chatter so bad even when it's only slightly cold, like during a cool walk or when I have to go outside in cooler weather or even in the damn cinema!
On top of Raynaud’s, I also have been diagnosed with extreme cold sensitivity. This means I'm freezing even when the weather is relatively warm. For example, I’ve found myself shivering under air conditioning or feeling chilly in warm ocean water, if I remove one layer of warmer clothing I get damn goosebumps!!!! I'm layering up like 3-4 layers with gloves to go to the shops 😭😭. And winter is especially tough; just walking into a cooler building can make me start shivering and chattering and flare up all my Raynaud’s symptoms so imagine when I'm outside 😭. I literally spend my life in front of a heater in multiple layers and a hot water bottle 😭😭
So! Sorry if this is rambling but I was wandering if anyone has tips or suggestions to stay warm. Like even anything you do when your cold or something. ANYTHING! I'm literally shivering all the time so anything helps!!
Sorry if this is TMI!
Love you all (bonus points if you write a Elvis story about this.....😉😘)
Also one last thing before I shut up...I know I overuse this emoji 😭...but...please don't come after me. 😘

tw suicide, cancer
My Uncle Art, who married into the family when he married my Aunt Leslie, he's a great guy. He wasn't always, I'll be honest, he was a real dick for most of my childhood, but he was an alcoholic. And when he quit drinking, it was like a personality switch was flipped and he became this gentle, loving, helpful, compassionate person when he was none of those things before he got sober.
This last month alone, Art has been down from Ohio where he lives to visit his sister, who lives in the same town in Florida as me, three times. He comes down from time to time because he owns the condo she lives in (and pays all her bills and expenses... while she goes through a fifth a vodka a day. How she is alive, not one of us can comprehend. But while he was here, Art took time to A) install a new hot water heater for us and haul the old one out, B) do the same for our dishwasher (and then he went to the grocery store and bought us a huge tub of detergent pods and a bottle of rinse aid, because he's thoughtful like that and noticed we were low on pods when he was fussing around under the sink), and C) fixed the garbage disposal. He didn't have to do any of these things, he volunteered because he's one of those old guys that likes to, as my mom says, "putz around and fix things" because it's his love language, honestly. Acts of service.
Her daughter is a little younger than me? I'm almost 45, I wanna say she's 35. Anyway, I didn't know her super well, but I know her. We shared an aunt and uncle, not quite like a cousin, but she was nice. Chill. She sold me weed at cost (she was a weed dealer) a few times, we smoked out together a few times. She had survived leukemia, and we bonded over being in the Terribel Illness Club, right down to the fact that my disease-modifying drug is Kesimpta, which was used to treat leukemia under the name Arzerra. Bonded over the joys of poisoning your body to save your body.
Well, she unfortunately succumbed to mental illness yesterday, taking her own life. My poor uncle, he is devastated. So is my aunt. It never makes sense when these things happen, and it's sticking with me a little not just because I knew her and considered her a friend, but because she had been in the Awful Illness Club with me and she's beaten hers! I love when people get the diagnosis and beat it! It's one of my favorite things! My roommate had spinal surgery last year and he has recovered so much more mobility than he could have possibly dreamed of and I see him thriving more and more each day and it warms my heart, and he told me he feels bad because he knows there's no miracle procedure to make me suddenly turn around and feel better. But I don't want him to feel that way! I love living off successes like this vicariously!
Anyway, it turns out that leukemia was the one she could beat. Mental illness she could not. I'm so sorry, Emily. I hope you've found peace.
It has been a bad week for uncles. My Uncle Chris was diagnosed with prostate cancer. They think they caught it early, but given that he's 78 years old they have to look everywhere to make sure that's the only place the cancer is. I gotta admit, I'm scared. I know prostate is one of the more survivable cancers, one of my other uncles had it and the treatment was so fast and effective that the extended family didn't know it had happened until he was already in remission. But Chris is not Bob -- he has a much more fragile constitution, and probably an eating disorder? All his life he's been scary skinny and obsessive about his weight. Bob climbs mountains and stuff, Chris sits on his porch and sips vodka and watches the ducks. There's just a whole different level of healthiness here.
Also, to be frank, Chris's wife is a wretched succubus. She is AWFUL to be around because she is one of those people that just CREATES stress out of thin air. It's like her magical power, creating stress out of nothing at all! She has alienated him from all three of his sisters (well my mom not as much, but she also doesn't spend nearly as much time with him as she used to? They used to go to the beach and see the sunset 2-3 times a week. Now it's like. 2-3 times in the last year) .
I am not on speaking terms with the wretched bitch or her daughter (this child has been a brat since birth, and continued to be. Last I talked to her was an argument because she thought I was vagueblogging about her on Facebook, which, lol? I do not care enough about her life to be passive aggressive to her like that. She also accused me of being jealous of her life, which is HYSTERICAL because she has three small children (that she cannot handle and honestly didn't want more than one, but well...) and a Republican husband with the personality of damp toast. He's like 6'7" and I think she fell prey to the "he's not hot, just tall" trap. Anyway my cousin accusing me of being jealous of her life, really funny stuff, she's probably projecting? But sure, she can imagine that i'm jealous of her 3 children under 6 and her ugly inside-and-out husband and her exciting career shilling cleaning products for an MLM scheme.
But I love my uncle and I really am worried between his wife and his daughter they are going to stress him to the grave. They have stressed him out constantly for 4 decades now, don't see any reason they would change when they can both enjoy walking all over him. Which they do. It's depressing. My mom worked with DV offenders for 3 decades and she says their relationship has all the hallmarks of verbal and emotional abuse, and I believe it. Sometimes the things my aunt would say about my uncle would make me tilt my head because it would be some outrageously offensive thing that my uncle would never, ever say.
It goes like this: Aunt Beeyatch: Your uncle told me I looked fat Me: *head tilt* Really? That doesn't sound like something he would say. *turns to uncle* You didn't really say that, did you? My mom: Say what? Me: Aunt Bee just said Uncle Chris said she looked fat, which i thought was really weird, because it doesn't sound like something he would say it all. My mom: Of course he didn't say that, *dismissive as all hell, turns to Aunt Bee* Why would you make that up? Aunt Bee: I'm just joshing you (I kid you know she says "joshing" all the time -_-) Me; *politely* Oh okay. I knew it didn't sound like something he would say!
some version of this conversation has been had MANY times over the decades
all this to say I'm worried about my uncles :( send good thoughts to them both.

Each, took out old, put in new.
The faucet: I know wires but tubes with water? Not so much. Took a look under the sink and said nope, looks more like a job for Robert De Niro in his rubber suit. But, in the end, it was not so tricky at all.
The dryer: the thing went into cool-down mode much too early. This was easy for me to diagnose as a timer dial issue and was no problem ordering and replacing the part (wires).
The water heater: no hot water, must be the heating elements. Ordered the tool and was able to figure out the whole turn the house water off, open the valve at the bottom of the thing, open the pressure release valve, let it drain - got one element out but the other was rusted in. Diagnosis, need a new water heater. Replace it myself? No way, (tubes with water…) Plumbing guy says it will be $1300, but Home Depot says this unit is $550. The young Jamaican guy who delivered it in the most beat up pick up truck I’ve seen in a while was friendly even after Ladybird tried to bite him. Tipped him $20 (never know when you are supposed to tip someone).

Don't let plumbing problems dampen your day! Let's dive into the top 5 plumbing emergencies in London and learn how to keep things under control until your plumber arrives.
Burst Pipes: From Drips to Disasters
Picture this: water gushing out of a burst pipe, flooding your home, and turning it into an impromptu swimming pool. It's not a pretty sight, but keep calm! If you can safely access your main water supply, shut it off to minimise further damage. Use buckets or towels to contain the water, and mop up excess water to prevent slips and falls. Blocked Drains: Bye-bye, Drain Drama
Blocked drains can be like unwanted visitors who show up at the most inconvenient times, causing slow drainage, odd odours, and even flooding. According to a 2019 study in the UK, 48% of people said they put oil and fat down their kitchen sink, which is one of the main reasons for drain blockage.
While you wait for the plumber to arrive, try using a plunger to clear the blockage. Avoid using chemical drain cleaners, as they can damage your pipes. Our experienced plumbers will arrive with specialised tools and pressure techniques to unclog those drains, leaving you with smoothly flowing water once again.

Leaking Taps: Drip, Drip, No More!
Leaking taps can be irritating, wasteful, and even damaging to your property. According to Wired, London loses more than half a billion litres of water to leaks every day. In the meantime, you can try turning off the water supply to the affected tap and placing a towel or bucket underneath to catch the dripping water. Our certified plumbers will diagnose the cause of the leak and fix or replace any needed components, putting an end to that annoying drip-drip and restoring it to function perfectly.
Toilet Clogs: The Dreaded Blockade
A nightmare for any homeowner: a clogged toilet that refuses to flush. According to Water UK, people flushing wet wipes down the toilet account for 75% of drain blockages in the UK. So, next time, don’t forget to #BinTheWipe.
Also, bear in mind that a single faulty toilet could leak more than 400 litres of water in a single day. While you wait for the plumber, avoid flushing multiple times, as it may cause the toilet to overflow. Instead of panic flushing (don’t worry, we’ve all been there), try using a plunger to loosen the blockage. Our expert local plumbers are equipped with the right tools and skills to tackle that dreaded blockade.
Water Heater Issues: No More Cold Showers!
Stepping into a cold shower on a chilly London morning is not a pleasant thought. Before anything, check if the pilot light on your water heater is lit. If it's not, try relighting it following the manufacturer's instructions. If that doesn't work, avoid tampering with the water heater further and use the Bokafix app to instantly book a certified gas engineer.
If you're unsure whether your boiler needs replacing or just fixing, make sure to check out our blog post ‘Is Your Boiler Ready for Replacement? The 7 Common Warning Signs’, you may find it useful. Once at your house, our qualified local Fixer will correct the issue, ensuring you have hot water flowing again in no time.

Tankless Water Heaters
A tankless water heater heats water as needed without needing a storage tank. It passes cold water through a heat exchanger, rapidly warming it to the desired temperature before delivering it to the faucet, shower, or appliance.
Tankless water heaters primarily provide hot water for various domestic purposes, such as bathing, washing dishes, and doing laundry. Unlike traditional water heaters with storage tanks, tankless models offer several advantages, including energy efficiency, space-saving design, and an endless hot water supply since they don't run out as long as they have a sufficient flow rate and appropriate sizing. They are especially popular in homes with limited space and for users looking to reduce energy consumption and utility costs.
In commercial settings, they can meet the demands of various applications such as hotels, restaurants, and industrial processes, ensuring uninterrupted supply, lessening operating costs, and optimizing space.

Air Conditioner Repair and Maintenance
Air conditioners can break down for various reasons, necessitating services like those provided by Green Energy Mechanical in Canton, MA. Common causes include:
Neglecting regular maintenance, such as cleaning coils and changing filters, can reduce efficiency and breakdowns.
Dirty filters restrict airflow, causing the system to work harder and potentially freeze, leading to breakdowns.
Leaking refrigerant can reduce cooling capacity and damage the compressor, resulting in system failure.
Problems with wiring, circuit breakers, or capacitors can disrupt the electrical components, causing the AC to malfunction or not turn on.
Insufficient airflow or refrigerant issues can cause the evaporator coils to freeze, affecting cooling performance.
The compressor is a critical component, and its issues can lead to costly repairs or AC replacement.
As air conditioners age, their components can wear out or become less efficient, increasing the risk of breakdowns.
If you're searching for AC repair near me in Canton, MA, choose Green Energy Mechanical.

I'm just... not in a good way. Kind of in a very bad way, actually.
Still dragging my way through school. Which is fine at this point. No new struggles there. Just... several house problems have come up as well, and my husband has done fuck all to address them. I am moderately germaphobic, so it is very literally difficult to do certain tasks. Yet I find myself doing the litter, cleaning the dishes, and hell, even some plumbing. The sinks have been draining slowly, and cleaning the drain traps has been an actual nightmare. I asked him to at least clean out the bucket I used and put on the back porch. He emptied it, but he didn't rinse them out with the hose. I've had to do construction and handyman work. I need to figure out how to drain the hot water heater. Plus normal stuff like cleaning the counters, the floors, the toilet. I CAN do these things, even with the phobia, but it is so, so mentally taxing. Plus the litter and dishes are supposed to be his chores, and he complains about them not getting done. He just... doesn't do it. Says he doesn't have time, doesn't fit into his schedule.
The cat has been misbehaving as well. She has decided my husband's clothes are a good place to go bathroom. And my husband is loosing his temper over it, which is... very literally triggering me. My dad would lose his temper with our cats growing up and kick them across the room. My husband isn't hurting our cat, but it still triggers me that he is getting angry with the cat for doing cat things. It's not her fault. It's our fault for not training her properly and/or not seeing to her medical needs. He has been complaining about this for weeks, but he hasn't fixed anything. I finally decided to just schedule the vet appointment myself. He bought cleaning supplies to deodorize her messes, but he hasn't used them properly. He just throws the clothes in the washer without running it, making the washer smell. I should mention I am ALLERGIC to cat urine. He KNOWS this. I have asked him to clean these things. But again... doesn't fit his schedule. He just gets mad about it instead. I am just trying to keep up with the problem as best I can.
My physical health is struggling, mostly because the air quality is terrible where I live. It is causing several different health issues to flare.
Counseling has been... hard. Good progress. Amazing progress. I have met a few new parts. But with that comes... well... difficult memories. Difficult emotions. New things I do not know how to deal with. New parts to take care of. I need to publicly state I am not ashamed of them or what they've been through, because I know they fear that. It is just... hard. For me and them.
Since my mental AND physical health is flagging, older mental health issues are beginning to rear their heads again. Stuff that I usually have a handle on. Self harm just to make everything... stop... slow down for a while. I have an old eating disorder rearing its head too. I've never known exactly what it is, never been diagnosed. I'll go days at a time without eating. And when I do, there's a 50/50 chance I'll keep the food down. Sometimes I'll throw it up due to disgust with myself for eating, and sometimes its due to distrusting the food, that it is somehow contaminated (and that is 100% a trauma thing, growing up in a house with food that was frequently infested. Don't know if those instances count as flashbacks or not).
I am... scared to admit to struggling. Not with my relationship with my school now. It's pretty clear that any signs of mental health struggles will be confronted with great bias. Hell, even my marriage problems. That is one of the areas they drilled me on, saying that a poor marriage was a sign that I was unfit for the program.
I find myself missing the psych ward. The permission to just... focus on myself and my own recovery.
I am... not okay.

Taking Care of a Water Heater Repair
Tumblr media
Professional Water Heater Repair
When it comes to maintaining and repair of water heaters, it is important to hire a professional to ensure the safety and reliability of the heating system. A professional will have the knowledge and experience needed to diagnose cause of water heater problems and perform the needed repairs and maintenance. Before hiring a water heater repair service, it is important to understand what types of services they provide.
Some water heater repair companies will focus on certain types of heaters such as gas or electric water heaters, while others may offer all types of water heater repair. Additionally, different companies may offer additional services such as tankless water heater installation. Ask potential repair services what types of services they offer and inquire about their experience and qualifications as a professional water heater repair company.
Once a professional water heater repair service has been determined, the homeowner should consult with them on all aspects of the repair. This includes a general assessment of the heater, as well as troubleshooting and any special tools or equipment that may be needed. Additionally, the homeowner should carefully consider any suggested changes or replacements as repairs may be more expensive than replacements, depending on the situation.
Cost of Water Heater Repair
The cost of professional water heater repair varies based on a variety of factors. The type, age, and size of the water heater all play a role in the total cost of repair or replacement. Additionally, whether the homeowner or professional needs to assess the heater and purchase necessary supplies will also influence the final cost. Generally, repair costs range from as low as $75 for simple repairs to as much as $2500 for complex repairs or complete installation of a new water heater.
The cost of water heater repair may also be affected by the warranties offered by the manufacturer. If the water heater is still covered under its manufacturer's warranty, most of the cost of repairs may be covered. The homeowner should consult with the warranty and the repair service in order to determine the exact cost of any needed repairs.
Water Heater Maintenance
Proper water heater maintenance is essential in order to prevent costly repairs and ensure the life of the water heater. In order to prolong the life of the water heater and prevent issues with leaks, temperature fluctuations, and poor performance, it is important to follow a few basic steps of water heater maintenance.
The most important step in proper maintenance of a water heater is to flush the system every year to help ensure that sediment does not build up over time. The homeowner may do this on their own or hire a professional for assistance. Additionally, the homeowner should keep a close eye on the temperature and pressure relief valve, as this valve is the one component that will activate when the tank is overfilled with water.
Furthermore, the homeowner should make sure to inspect the anode rod once per year and replace it if necessary. The anode rod is responsible for preventing the formation of rust or corrosion on the inside of the tank, which is important for overall efficiency and safety. Finally, the homeowner should also pay close attention to any signs of leakage or water damage around the tank to make sure that it is not leaking.
Taking care of water heaters is important in order to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the system. Understanding practical maintenance steps, hiring a professional water heater repair service, and weighing the cost of necessary repairs can all help homeowners to maintain their water heaters and ensure their heating system is in peak performance.

5 Common Plumbing Problems in San Jose and How to Fix Them
Plumbing problems are among the most common issues that homeowners face, and San Jose residents are no exception. Plumbing problems can range from minor inconveniences to major emergencies that require immediate attention. Knowing how to identify and fix common plumbing problems can save you time, money, and headaches in the long run. In this article, we'll discuss five common plumbing problems in San Jose and how to fix them.
Dripping Faucets
A dripping faucet is not only annoying but can also waste a significant amount of water over time. The most common cause of a dripping faucet is a worn-out washer. Replacing the washer is a relatively easy and inexpensive fix. To do so, turn off the water supply to the faucet, remove the handle, and use pliers to unscrew the packing nut. From there, remove the stem and replace the washer. Reassemble the faucet and turn the water supply back on.
Tumblr media
Clogged Drains
Clogged drains are a common plumbing problem that can be caused by a variety of factors, including hair, grease, food particles, and mineral buildup. One of the easiest ways to fix a clogged drain is by using a plunger. Place the plunger over the drain and create a seal. Then, rapidly pump the plunger up and down several times to dislodge the blockage.
If the plunger doesn't work, try using a drain snake to remove the clog manually. Insert the snake into the drain and turn it clockwise to push it through the blockage. Once the snake has penetrated the blockage, pull it out, and dispose of any debris that may have attached to it.
Tumblr media
Running Toilets
A running toilet can waste a significant amount of water, leading to higher water bills. The most common cause of a running toilet is a faulty flapper valve. To fix this, turn off the water supply to the toilet and remove the tank lid. Check the flapper valve and replace it if it's worn or damaged. You can also try adjusting the chain length to ensure the flapper valve seals correctly.
Tumblr media
Leaking Pipes
Leaking pipes are a serious plumbing problem that requires immediate attention. Leaks can cause water damage and lead to mold growth if left untreated. The most common cause of leaking pipes is corrosion or damage to the pipe joints. If you notice a leak, turn off the water supply to the affected area and call a professional plumber to fix the problem.
Tumblr media
Low Water Pressure
Low water pressure can be caused by a variety of factors, including mineral buildup, clogged pipes, or a faulty pressure regulator. One way to fix low water pressure is by cleaning the faucet aerator. The aerator is a small device that screws onto the end of the faucet spout. Over time, mineral buildup can clog the aerator, reducing water flow. To clean it, unscrew the aerator, remove any debris, and reattach it.
If cleaning the aerator doesn't solve the problem, you may need to call a professional plumber to diagnose the issue.
Plumbing problems can be frustrating and costly if left unaddressed. By knowing how to identify and fix common plumbing issues, you can save time, money, and headaches. However, if you encounter a serious plumbing problem, it's best to call a professional plumber to avoid causing further damage. When You Should Call a Plumber
Ever thought of playing plumber in your own home to save some bucks? Hold up! You might just unleash a tidal wave of chaos. Trust us, calling a pro to handle your home's intricate plumbing maze is the smarter (and drier) choice.
Hey, did you know your home's plumbing is like a big puzzle where all the pieces are connected? So, if you try to play handyman with one part, you might end up creating chaos in another. Plus, imagine the horror of water damage if things go south! Though saving cash seems cool, letting a pro plumber take the reins is usually the smartest move—unless it's a teeny-tiny fix, of course.
Did you know that your water heater isn't just about those warm and cozy showers? It's a hygiene superhero and a cleaning genius! But what if you're faced with icy water gushing from your taps? Worry not, here's what to do.
Got an electric water heater? Peek at your breaker panel. Rockin' a gas one? Make sure the pilot light's got your back. If these little checks didn't save the day, it's time to call in the professionals. Get a licensed plumber, and they'll swoop in, diagnose the whole thing, and either fix it up or set you up with a brand new water heater.
Hey, guess what? If your pipes are chatting with you through rattling or knocking noises, you might be dealing with a sneaky issue called water hammer! It's like the Hulk of the plumbing world, where water suddenly and brutally changes direction in the pipes. No worries though, just call a pro to handle this not-so-friendly pipe monster and save your plumbing from long-term damage.
Ever experienced a random plunge in your water pressure that just won't bounce back? Watch out - it might be hinting at some serious plumbing drama! You could be dealing with leaks, blockages, or even busted pipes. No clue what's causing the dip? Better call a plumber to do some sleuthing! It could happen that a water heater runs out of hot water quickly. What to do in this case and to get know more information about this problem you can in blog 5 Star Plumbing. It is a company that provides full services of professional plumbers in Sacramento and San Jose.
Thinking of jazzing up your bathroom or kitchen? Renovations in these spaces often require tampering with the plumbing. So, why not play it safe and let a pro handle it all? Even just changing your faucets can be a breeze with a plumber. And for more complex stuff like rearranging fixtures, a licensed plumber is an absolute must! Trust me, you won't regret it.
Did you know that hidden burst or broken pipes can wreak havoc in your home? And tracking down that sneaky damage isn't easy either! But don't sweat it, a licensed plumber can save the day by fixing that nasty leak and making sure it stays fixed. Oh, and if you're chilling in a cold area, watch out for frozen pipes. Even if they don't burst (yet!), better let a skilled plumber work their magic to thaw 'em out and check for any ice damage. Plus, they'll even give you some cool tips to avoid frozen pipes down the line. Stay leak-free, my friend!
Hey, here's the deal with plumbers: sometimes, you can handle minor plumbing hiccups on your own, like busting out the trusty ol' plunger for a clogged toilet. But let's be real - when it comes to serious leaks and mega clogs, it's best to leave it to the pros. Just trust your gut - if you feel like you're in way too deep, call a plumber, and save yourself from turning a small problem into a big, costly mess.
